MEGA BUCKS! SO YOU WANT TO STUDY ABROAD? INFORMATION FOR STUDENTS WHO WISH TO STUDY AT UNIVERSITIES NOT LOCATED IN THEIR HOME COUNTRIES.

Studying abroad is a fantastic opportunity to experience a different culture, broaden your horizons, make new friends, even learn a new language. It also looks fabulous on your resume.

While you should be aware that studying abroad is hugely expensive, it is worth every penny. In the long run it will pay for itself over and over again in new opportunities although there are only so many times you can say: “When I was studying in Arizona…..” before people’s eyes start to glaze over. Potential employers adore people who can motivate themselves, use their initiative, and grab life with both hands.

Although there are fewer financial aid opportunities available than if you stayed in your home country it is possible to find some student loan facilities and scholarships specifically for international students. Spend some time researching for information on various student aid opportunities both from your home country and in the country you want to visit.

Many universities throughout the world have information for prospective international students on their websites.

They will tell you application procedures, costs, living expenses, health care requirements, visa/passport information, language requirements and social activities/organizations.

Individual universities often offer their own scholarships and many of these include international students.

The university’s own website may also include information on government funding for international students.

Your own country’s government may also offer a financial aid package to local students who wish to travel abroad.
